Wiley Wills T-Bones to Win at Haymarket

LINCOLN -- Brett Wiley launched a solo homer in the top of the ninth as the Kansas City T-Bones (26-31) edged the Saltdogs (32-24) 4-3 in front of 2,314 fans at Haymarket Park Tuesday night.

The loss snaps a seven-game home win streak for the 'Dogs.

Wiley's blast came on the heels of a two-run rally tied the game for Lincoln in the bottom of the eighth.

Wiley finished 4-for-5, a triple shy of the cycle with three RBI.

Casey Barnes pitched 6 2/3 scrappy innings, allowing three runs on 10 hits with five strikeouts and one walk but didn't factor into the decision.

2014 World Series champion Mike Kickham pitched seven for Kansas City, allowing one run on four hits.

Brad Orosey (2-2) yielded the long ball to Wiley, the first homer he's allowed all season to take the loss.

Mark Haynes pitched a perfect ninth for his 12th save.

Ryan Davis pitched 1 1/3 innings of scoreless middle relief for the 'Dogs with three strikeouts.

Brandon Jacobs went 1-for-2, extending his hit streak to 11 games.

After tying the game in the eighth, the Saltdogs had runners on second and third with one out but couldn't take the lead.

All-Star Curt Smith did not play due to a hamstring injury.

Bobby Brown was ejected in the top of the fifth after arguing a call at first base.

The series continues Wednesday night at 6:35 p.m. RHP Ryan O'Sullivan is expected to square off against RHP Jordan Cooper.
