Wildcats to hold second open tryout March 12th

ALBANY, GA- The South Georgia Wildcats announced that they will hold their second open tryout for the 2005 season on Saturday, March 12th. The one day event will take place at Albany State University’s football practice field (main campus) located at 504 College Dr., Albany, Ga. Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the tryout will begin at 10:00 a.m. All position players are welcome to attend.

Participants can pre-register by visiting the Wildcats football offices at 230 South Jackson Street, Suite 356. The cost to pre-register is $40 and can be paid by cash or money order. The fee will be $50 the day of the tryout and can be paid by cash or money order only.

Potential players will participate in one-on-one and three-on-three non-contact drills as well as being tested on the 40-yard sprint, 20-yard short shuttle, standing broad jump and other agility drills. The tryout will be conducted outside on natural grass. All participants are required to bring athletic shoes (outdoor cleats preferably) and workout wear during the tryout. Participants must be 18 years of age or older and must sign an injury waiver form to participate.

The tryout will be open for viewing to the public and all media.

The Wildcats will kickoff the 2005 season on April 9th against in-state rival Macon Knights at the Albany Civic Center. Wildcats season tickets are now on sale starting at just $70.
