Wildcats Take Game Four in OT Thriller
April 13, 2016 - Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL)
Moncton Wildcats News Release
Moncton takes game four in overtime with a 2-1 win over Gatineau to tie the series at 2-2!
It was a scoreless first period with both teams coming out of the gate strong. It was not until 6:07 of the second that Moncton put it's first on the board. Manny Wiederer took the puck on a turnover by Gatineau at the hashmarks and fired one high blocker for his fifth of the playoffs to give the Cats an early lead!
As time was winding down in the third it looked as though it would be a 1-0 win, but with only 13 second remaining Alexandre Alain found the back of the net for the tying Gatineau goal. This game would need overtime to decide it's fate.
Cam Askew would end up scoring the winning goal on a feed from Wiederer at 9:17 of the extra frame!
Bouchard was outstanding in nets tonight, turning away 31 Gatineau shots and was named the first star of the game. The series is now tied 2-2 with game five on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. at the Coliseum. For tickets call 857-4100 or go online at www.tickets.moncton.ca.
