Moncton Wildcats News Release
MONCTON N.B. - The Moncton Wildcats have announced today the signing of defenceman Connor Senken. Born in New York, the sixteen-year-old now lives in Kanata, Ontario and plays for Stanstead College in the MPHL. He was a first round draft pick of the Smith Falls Bears of the CCHL in 2014. This past season in 67 regular season games he recorded 29 points. Prior to last year, he played his 2014-2015 season with the Ottawa Senators Midget AAA team.
"We are thrilled to have Connor Senken officially commit to becoming a Wildcat, said Director of Hockey Operations Roger Shannon. "Connor's skating separates himself from other players, and he's been able to generate much of his team's offensive attack by using his elite speed and vision. We believe he will be an integral component when it comes to our team in speed, attacking and transition. His fiery competitiveness also allows him to be effective while defending, and he takes pride in playing the right way without the puck. We look forward to having the opportunity to work with Connor to develop him into the well-rounded two-way defenseman that we project him to be."
Wildcats training camp will begin on Tuesday August 23rd. The Hub City Showcase Tournament is this coming Friday Aug 19-21st at the Superior Propane Centre. Tickets are on sale now at (506) 382-5555 or at the door during the tournament.
