Wildcats Call up Goaltender

Moncton Wildcats News Release
MONCTON N.B. - With the recent injury to the Moncton Wildcats number one goaltender Matthew Waite, the team has added an additional goaltender to the roster for the upcoming weeks. Matthew was injured during play vs. the Saint John Sea Dogs on Sunday November 20th during the second period. Julian Galloway would come in the game in relief of Matt, and the Wildcats went on to win 3-2 in a shootout.
As a result of the injury to Waite, the Wildcats have called up goaltender Alec MacDonald from the Pictou County Weeks Midget AAA team for tonight's game against the Cataractes. Alec was a recent trade acquisition from the Chicoutimi Saguenéens.
Goaltender Dominik Tmej has also been recalled and is expected to join the team this weekend during their road trip to Cape Breton and Halifax on Saturday and Sunday. Tmej was sent to Springfield at the start of the season and has appeared in nets for all of their games since arriving.
"Over the past year the team has been working hard to put together a group of goaltenders who can step in at any point and get the job done," said Director of Hockey Operations, Roger Shannon. We are hopeful that Matt's recovery will not have him out of the lineup for too long, however, in the meantime it is a great chance for us to see our younger goalies in action. Wildcats Goaltending Coordinator, Scott Munroe, has done an excellent job with our goalies since his arrival, and during this time we will rely heavily on his department. We are all wishing Matt a full and fast rehabilitation, and look forward to seeing our young guys perform!"
