Wildcats and WALB Team Up

South Georgia Wildcats News Release


ALBANY, GA- The South Georgia Wildcats and Jim Wilcox, Vice President and General Manager of WALB-TV Channel 10, South Georgia's NBC affiliate are proud to announce that they have reached a new five year agreement.

WALB-TV will be the official television partner and will sponsor each opening night game for the next five seasons.

"We are excited about extending our partnership with the South Georgia Wildcats" said Wilcox. "The Wildcats Arena Football team has added more excitement to our South Georgia lifestyle than anything else we have experienced in the past 10 years."

WALB-TV will sponsor opening night as the Wildcats take on the Tennessee Valley Vipers Saturday, April 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Albany James H. Gray Civic Center.

As a game sponsor, WALB-TV will be involved in the pre-game activities. Presenting the first ball will be WALB's nightly news anchor Ben Roberts. Participating in the coin toss is WALB's sports director Robert Hydrick and performing the National Anthem will be morning news anchor Carla Heath-Sands. The Marine Base Color Guard will present the colors during the pre game ceremonies.

The Arena Football League is entering its 20th season and the South Georgia Wildcats are entering their second season in Albany, GA. The Wildcats will kickoff the 2006 season against Tennessee Valley Vipers on Saturday, April 8th at the Albany Civic Center. Wildcats season tickets are now on sale starting at just $70 and single game tickets are now available.
