Moncton Wildcats News Release

MONCTON N.B. - The Moncton Wildcats have acquired forward Dakota Miskolczi off waivers from the Shawinigan Cataractes. Born in Fort Errie, Ontario, Dakota is an 18-year-old forward who was a fifth round pick of the London Knights in 2014. After playing only three games with the team during their Memorial Cup year, he would spend the remainder of the season with the Fort Erie Meteors of the GOJHL, recording 22 points in 29 games.

After being picked up by Shawinigan, Dakota has appeared in six games with the Cataractes this season.

The Wildcats see Dakota as a very physical player who can fit the third line role with players such as Will Bower and Lane Cormier. He has a great shot, skates well, hits hard and will get the chance to play against opponents top lines.

"What I liked about Dakota in my research is just how physical he can be when he wants to be" said Director of Hockey Operations Roger Shannon. "He skates well and has that ability to score, something he has demonstrated well in Junior A, as well as this season; scoring two goals with Shawinigan in six games. He a good player who will continue to develop and we are looking forward to having him join the lineup."

Dakota is expected to join the Wildcats lineup this weekend as they take on the Acadie-Bathurst Titan tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. and Val d'Or on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. It's pink in the rink weekend so we encourage all of our fans to wear pink and come out to support this great cause!
