Moncton Wildcats News Release
MONCTON N.B. - The final NHL Central Scouting Draft rankings were announced today, and of the 28 QMJHL players who made the list, two Moncton Wildcat forwards are also projected to be selected this year. Wildcats centre William Bower is projected to go 153rd, while Kevin Klima is slotted at 210th. A native of Saint John NB, this year marks Bower's third with the Wildcats, playing in 135 games, recording 17 goals and 34 assists for a total of 51 points. Although missing part of this season due to injury, Bower has been a strong force on the ice with line mates Stephen Johnson and Will Smith.
Rookie, Kevin Klima has had a standout year with the Cats, after splitting last season between the London Knights and the Springfield Junior Blues he has held his own in the QMJHL this year. In 52 regular season games played he has put up 23 goals, and 27 assists for a total of 50 points despite missing 15 regular season games due to an upper body injury. Originally born in Florida, Klima has adapted well to life in Moncton and is looking at another strong season with the Cats next year.
This year's NHL Entry Draft is being held in Buffalo New York at the First Niagara Center, home of the Buffalo Sabres on Friday, June 24, and Saturday, June 25, 2016. The Moncton Wildcats would like to congratulate both Will and Kevin, and wish them all the best at this year's draft!
