Washington, Pa. - The Washington Wild Things issued their 2016 schedule Monday. The team will open its 15th season of Frontier League baseball at CONSOL Energy Park in May.

Washington will open and close the regular season on the road in 2016. The Wild Things will travel to Gateway in Sauget, Illinois for the season opener and they will conclude the regular season when they face the Lake Erie Crushers in Avon, Ohio. The home opener is scheduled for Friday, May 20th when Washington hosts Lake Erie for a three game set. The final regular season home game is scheduled for Sunday, August 28th when the Joliet Slammers will be in town.

Home games will played at CONSOL Energy Park Tuesday through Sunday from May through August. Washington will be home for eight summer weekends and eight weekday sets.

The All Star Break in 2016 is from July 11 through July 14th. The classic will take place in Florence, Kentucky, home of the Freedom.

The Frontier League is comprised of 12 teams. In addition to Washington teams include the Lake Erie Crushers, the Traverse City Beach Bums, the Schaumburg Boomers, The Windy City Thunderbolts, The Joliet Slammers, the River City Rascals, the Gateway Grizzlies, the Normal Cornbelters, the Southern Illinois Miners, the Evansville Otters, and the Florence Freedom.
