Wild Recalls Mikael Granlund

Houston, TX - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Thursday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forward Mikael Granlund (pronounced mih-kigh-EHL, GRAHN-lund) from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Granlund, 21 (2/26/92), collected six points (1-56) in 19 games with Minnesota this season and registered a goal in his NHL debut vs. Colorado on Jan. 19. The 5-foot-10, 186-pound native of Oulu, Finland has recorded 28 points (10-1828) in 29 games with the Aeros this season. Granlund tallied seven points (2-57) in nine games with Houston after being reassigned from Minnesota on March 12. He was named the AHL Rookie of the Month for October scoring 10 points (3-710) and a +5 rating in seven games. Granlund was Minnesota's first-round pick (ninth overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Houston continues a ten-game home stand at Toyota Center on Thursday with San Antonio at 7:05 p.m. The game marks a "Thirsty Thursday", where fans (21 and older) receive a "second drink free coupon" for The Maple Leaf Pub (Smith and Elgin). The first 500 fans to The Maple Leaf Pub after the game will be able to redeem their coupon for their second drink free. Friday night, the Aeros welcome the Chicago Wolves at 7:05 p.m. The game is presented by Houston Eye Associates. The first 3,500 patrons will be given an Aeros magnetic picture frame, compliments of Houston Eye Associates.
