Wild Assigns Olofsson and Mitchell to Iowa

DES MOINES, IA - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Monday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has assigned defenseman Gustav Olofsson and forward Zack Mitchell to the Iowa Wild, Minnesota's American Hockey league (AHL) affiliate.

Mitchell, 23 (1/7/93), played in 10 games with Minnesota after being recalled from Iowa on Nov. 9, and made his NHL debut in the Wild's win in Pittsburgh on Nov. 10. The 6-foot-1, 184-pound native of Orangeville, Ont., has one goal in 11 games with Iowa this season. Mitchell led Iowa in goals and scoring in 2015-16, and is in his third season with the Wild after signing as a free agent on March 4, 2014.

Olofsson, 22 (12/1/94), was recalled on Nov. 27 and recorded a plus-1 rating in 11:40 TOI during the Wild's loss in Vancouver Nov. 29. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound defenseman has registered 12 points (3-912) in 21 games with Iowa this season, leading the team's blueliners in scoring and ranking T-14th amongst all AHL defensemen. The native of Boras, Sweden, has appeared in three career contests with Minnesota after being selected by the Wild in the second round (46th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

The Iowa Wild returns home for three straight, welcoming the Milwaukee Admirals on Tuesday, Dec. 6. The game is Kids Eat Free Tuesday, sponsored by 96.5 Country and Goodhue Nolte Insurance. All kids 12 and under eat free with (1) Crash's Kids Meal, which includes one hotdog, one soda, one popcorn, one fruit snack and an Iowa Wild prize. Fans may also bring in a Subway receipt to purchase a ticket for only $5. Iowa continues the home stand with a two-game visit from San Antonio that starts Friday at 7 PM. Fans may purchase $2 Beers, compliments of 100.3 The Bus. It's also Teddy Bear Toss Night, where fans are permitted to throw a new or gently used stuffed animal on the ice for charity. The Teddy Bear Toss benefits the Mercy Pediatric unit.

Iowa wraps up the three-game home stand on Saturday at 7 PM with the Rampage at Wells Fargo Arena. Saturday is Star Wars Night, where fans receive an Iowa Wild/Star Wars themed poster (while supplies last). Star Wars night, sponsored by Universal Printing and NASH Icon, features Star Wars characters on the concourse to help promote the release of the newest movie in the series, *Roque One*, which opens on Dec. 16. Fans may also enjoy Jim Beam drink specials throughout the evening, with $5 Beam Apple Orchards or $10 Beam Apple Orchard in a mason jar. The Jim Beam specials are presented by Nash FM.

The Iowa Wild 2016-17 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center: and runs from October through April. The Wells Fargo Arena box office is open Monday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and closed on Sunday. For Saturday game days, the box office will open at 10 a.m. For Sunday game days the box office will open at 12 p.m. Fans may also purchase tickets by calling 1-844-55-HYVEE or by visiting participating Hy-Vee food stores locations in the greater Des Moines area.
