Moncton Wildcats News Release
The Moncton Wildcats defeat the Saint John Sea Dogs 7-4 tonight in front of a sold out crowd at the Moncton Coliseum!
It was a strong showing tonight by the home team with five different scorers registering for Moncton. Saint John was on the board first courtesy of a goal by Nathan Noel midway through the frame, but it was all Moncton after that as they would hold the lead for the rest of the game.
Manuel Wiederer was Moncton's first star of the night, recording a hat trick and an assist for a four point game. Other Wildcat goals went to Kelly Klima, his twenty-second of the season, Zack MacEwen netted his tenth of the year, Will Smith recorded his twelfth on the season, and Vaclav Karabacek registered his sixteenth.
Both teams fired 36 shots at the opposing nets. The Wildcats will meet Saint John again on Saturday at Harbour Station for their final regular season match-up.
The Wildcats next home game will be on Friday March 18th when the Halifax Mooseheads are back in town at 7:00 p.m.
