Calgary, AB - Dustin Sylvester and the Kootenay Ice (30-16-1-2) welcome Scott Glennie and the Brandon Wheat Kings (32-16-0-3) for a battle between two tough Eastern Conference teams in WHL action on Tuesday, January 26th.

Tuesday night's game between the Ice and Wheat Kings can be seen live throughout western Canada on SHAW and SHAW Direct Channel 299 (7:00pm MST).

The Ice are coming off a 5-2 loss in Prince Albert on Saturday that snapped a franchise-record 14-game winning streak, and currently sit in fifth place in the Eastern Conference. The Ice were supposed to have played in Regina on Sunday, but the game was postponed and rescheduled due to poor weather conditions. Sylvester has seven goals and nine assists for 16 points in nine games in January.

The Wheat Kings are coming off a 5-2 win in Saskatoon over the Blades for their second victory in a row and their fourth win in five outings, and currently sit just two points back of the Blades for the East Division and Eastern Conference lead. The Wheat Kings are 15-11-0-1 on the road this season. Calvert has five goals and seven points over his last five games.

It's the third meeting of the season between the Ice and Wheat Kings. Kootenay won the first two meetings by a combined score of 9-4.

Elsewhere on Tuesday, Jason Bast and the Moose Jaw Warriors (25-17-2-3) take on Cody Eakin and the Swift Current Broncos (24-23-0-3) for an East Division clash.

The Warriors fell 3-1 in Red Deer on Saturday night following a 5-0 loss in Calgary on Friday night, and currently sit tied with the Raiders for sixth place in the Eastern Conference. The Warriors are 17-6-1-2 on home ice this season.

The Broncos are coming off a pair of losses to the Regina Pats in a weekend home-and-home series between the teams, and currently sit three points out of a playoff position in the Conference. Eakin saw a 14-game point streak snapped after being held off the score sheet in Saturday's loss to the visiting Pats.

In Prince George, B.C., James Dobrowolski and the Prince George Cougars (9-37-1-2) host Wacey Hamilton and the Medicine Hat Tigers (29-15-3-5) on Tuesday.

The Cougars are coming off two losses to the visiting Kelowna Rockets on Friday and Saturday, stretching their losing skid to nine games, overall. Dobrowolski shares the team lead with 11 goals this season.

The Tigers are coming off a pair of weekend wins over the Edmonton Oil Kings in a home-and-home series, outscoring the Oil Kings 11-3 in the process, and currently sit tied with Calgary for first place in the Central Division. Hamilton (15g-39a) leads the Tigers in scoring with 54 points.

In Kamloops, B.C., Chase Schaber and the Kamloops Blazers (23-23-2-3) host Mitch Wahl and the Spokane Chiefs (27-17-3-1) on Tuesday.

The Blazers fell 4-1 in Chilliwack to the Bruins on Saturday for their third defeat in their last four games, and currently sit one point behind the Bruins for sixth place in the Western Conference. Schaber has two goals and eight points in seven games since coming to the Blazers from Calgary at the trade deadline.

The Chiefs dropped a 3-2 decision in Everett to the Silvertips on Sunday after edging the Tri-City Americans by the same score line in Kennewick, WA, on Saturday. The Chiefs are 15-7-2-1 on the road this season.
