Vancouver Whitecaps News Release

VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced today that defender Luca Bellisomo, midfielders Admir Salihovic and Mason Webb, and forwards Dever Orgill and Nick Webb have been re-assigned to the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Residency team of the USL Premier Development League (PDL). They will join the team for the away match this Saturday, June 7, against the Tacoma Tide at Curtis High School Stadium.

Luca Bellisomo, born in Johannesburg, South Africa but raised in Vancouver, BC, is in his first year with Vancouver after spending four years at Burnaby's Simon Fraser University. The six-foot-one defender is a former captain of the Whitecaps reserve team and has yet to see action with the first team thus far.

Admir Salihovic was acquired by the Whitecaps on May 12 this year and has since made one appearance for the club in a 0-0 draw with the Montreal Impact on May 19, 2008. The midfielder, who was born in Tuzla, Bosnia & Herzegovina, calls Burnaby, BC, home.

Mason and Nick Webb, natives of Bellingham, Washington, are currently in their first seasons with the club after completing their collegiate careers at Oregon State University. Mason has played 23 minutes for the 'Caps in two appearances, while Nick has accumulated 40 minutes in four appearances with the USL First Division side.

Dever Orgill returns to the Residency squad after being called-up to the first team for their recent three-game road trip. Orgill, a native of Port Antonio, Jamaica, did not play but dressed in the final two matches away to Charleston on May 28 and Minnesota on May 31. Orgill has scored one goal in two PDL games.

This Saturday is the second Whitecaps doubleheader of the season at Swangard Stadium. At 4:00 p.m., the Whitecaps women (2-0-2) will kick off against their Pacific Northwest rivals of the W-League's Western Conference, the Seattle Sounders (1-0-1). The Whitecaps men (6-2-1) will then battle the Portland Timbers (4-3-5) at 7:00 p.m. Saturday is also a Wendy's Family Night - four tickets and two Wendy's Kids' Meals for only $48.
