Whitecaps Individual Match Tickets Now On Sale

VANCOUVER, BC - With only three weeks remaining before Vancouver Whitecaps FC kick off their final season at Swangard Stadium, individual match tickets for the 2010 USSF D-2 Pro League regular season are now on sale. Teitur Thordarson's side begin their campaign when they host NSC Minnesota Stars on Sunday, April 11. Individual match tickets are available for $20.
"Last year, we sold out 13 matches and we've already had great interest this year," said Whitecaps president Bob Lenarduzzi. "This is going to be a very exciting and competitive season. We've made a number of improvements to our squad during the off-season and players are going to be at their best as they look to earn a spot on next season's Major League Soccer roster. Swangard has been a fantastic home for us over the years; there are a lot of great memories for our fans and our club there, and I know we'll create a few more for the fans before the end of the season."
Seven of the first nine men's team matches this season will be played at Swangard, with the 'Caps playing a total of 15 USSF D-2 Pro League regular season games in Burnaby, BC. There will be one doubleheader at Swangard this season. On Sunday, July 25, the Whitecaps Residency squad host British Columbia rivals Victoria Highlanders FC in their final United Soccer Leagues (USL) Premier Development League regular season match at 4 p.m. PT before the men's team host Minnesota in USSF D-2 Pro League action at 7 p.m. PT.
The Whitecaps men wrap up their regular season schedule with home matches versus two of their big rivals. They host Canadian-rivals Montreal Impact on Friday, September 24, before meeting fellow 2011 Major League Soccer expansion club Portland Timbers on Saturday, October 2.
Whitecaps 2010 season tickets are also on sale, starting at $270. Season tickets include all men's and women's team regular season and playoff home matches at Swangard Stadium, Nutrilite Canadian Championship home matches against Toronto FC and Montreal Impact, as well as priority purchase rights for Vancouver MLS 2011 in BC Place.
