Whitecaps FC Acquire International Roster Spot from Columbus

VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced today that they have acquired an international roster spot - through to December 31, 2014 - from Eastern Conference side Columbus Crew in exchange for Vancouver's natural third-round pick (45th overall) in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft.

Whitecaps FC have 11 international roster spots - 10 of which are currently being used - through the 2014 season and 10 international roster spots through the 2016 season.

Last Thursday, Whitecaps FC selected Generation adidas defender Christian Dean (third overall), midfielder Andre Lewis (seventh overall) in the first round of the MLS SuperDraft and striker Mamadou Diouf (30th overall) in the second round. The final two rounds, will take place today at 11 a.m. PT and Vancouver holds one pick (51st overall) in the third Round and two picks (58th and 64th overall) in the fourth round.
