Vancouver Whitecaps News Release

VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC, in association with Shaw TV and TEAM 1040 Sports Radio, announced today the 2008 broadcast schedule. This year, Whitecaps fans will be able to watch at least 11 Whitecaps matches live on Shaw TV Cable 4 and listen to 15 Whitecaps men's games live on TEAM 1040. This will be the third consecutive year that the Whitecaps have partnered with Shaw TV, and in three of the last four years, TEAM 1040 has been the Whitecaps host radio station.

The Whitecaps kick off the 2008 season and broadcast package at home on Saturday, April 12, against the Montreal Impact. The home opener will be available live on Shaw TV and TEAM 1040. Included in the 11-match Shaw TV schedule are two Whitecaps men's and women's doubleheaders - Saturday, June 7, and Sunday, June 22.

The voice of the Whitecaps, Peter Schaad, will be returning for his fourth season as the play-by-play announcer. Alan Errington, a former assistant coach with Canada's men's national team and Vancouver 86ers, will once again be joining Peter in the broadcast booth as the colour commentator, while Kristin Reid will provide live interviews and additional insight from the sidelines.

TEAM 1040 will also air soccer shows throughout the season on select Sunday nights. Peter Schaad will host the one-hour soccer show, which will focus on all things soccer. More details on this show will be announced shortly.

In addition to the matches on Shaw TV and TEAM 1040, there will be two home and two away games broadcast live on Fox Sports World Canada (Fox Soccer Channel in the United States) and at least 26 matches available live or on-demand at usllive.com.
