Whale Release Two from PTOs

HARTFORD, October 15, 2012: Connecticut Whale general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the team has released forwards Scott Pitt and Shayne Wiebe from their Professional Tryout (PTO) agreements. Both players will join the Whale's ECHL affiliate, the Greenville Road Warriors.

Pitt and Wiebe were both scoreless in one game in the Whale's opening weekend of the season, and Pitt served one minor penalty.

The Whale are back in action this Friday night, October 19, when they begin a two-game trip to Norfolk to take on the defending Calder Cup-champion Admirals (7:30 PM faceoff, "Beethoven Radio" AM 1290, www.wccc.com). The Whale's next home game is next Friday, October 26 against the Hershey Bears. Faceoff is 7:00 PM at the XL Center, and, as at all Friday home games this season, fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs and $2 beers until 8:00.
