Westerman's Clutch Homer Puts Suns up

The Pittsfield Suns (17-15-1) came back late to defeat the Seacoast Mavericks (14-17) 8-5.

Mavericks scored first in the 1st, with a 2-run homer by Michael Goodrich. The Mavericks would get one run each in the 4th and 5th with a Jimmy Palmer RBI single and solo shot by Julian Bury respectively.

The Suns would mount the comeback in the 6th with a solo blast by Hal Hughes, a wild pitch scoring Kevin Donati, and an RBI single by Alex Parkos. Suns would tie it up in the 7th with an RBI single by Jacob Westerman.

The Mavericks would regain the lead in the bottom frame with an RBI double by Bury.

Suns would again tie it up in the 8th with a solo bomb by Sean Phelan. They would take the final lead with a clutch 3-run jack by Jacob Westerman in the 9th.

The Elser Animal Control Pest Player of the Game went to Jacob Westerman, who went 2-2 with a homer and 4 RBI.

The Pittsfield Suns host the North Shore Navigators on Tuesday. Suns' Brandon Shileikis will toe the rubber opposite Al Wallach. It will by Christmas in July Night!. First pitch is scheduled for 7 PM.
