Rome, GA - The West Virginia Power defeated the Rome Braves Thursday at State Mutual Stadium by a final score of 6-1 before a crowd of 1,352.
The game was scoreless until the sixth inning before the Braves got on the board thanks to Cristian Pache RBI single that scored Anfernee Seymour for the 1-0 score. The Power came back to take the lead in the seventh after a wild pitch followed by an error that plated two runs. The Power added on to their lead in the ninth, led by an RBI single by Logan Rutledge and an RBI triple by Trae Arbet for the 6-1 final.
Matt Anderson (2-1) gets the win for West Virginia and Rome pitcher Thomas Burrows (1-1) is hit with the loss. Rome starter Joey Wentz went six shutout innings for the Braves, striking out seven while only allowing two hits.
