Recap of Last Week

The Road Warriors returned home for three games after the Christmas break. Greenville hosted Wheeling on Thursday and Friday nights for an entertaining two-game series. Brandon Wong scored twice in the third period on Thursday to send the game into overtime and eventually shootouts. The Road Warriors won the game 5-4 with Danny Hobbs and Wong scoring in the shootout and Scott Stajcer saving five of six shots. Friday's game was another overtime thriller. This time the victory went to Wheeling by a score of 5-4. The Road Warriors finished up the weekend on Saturday night against Gwinnett. Saturday's South Division battle was won by the Gladiators by a score of 6-2.

Week Ahead

The Road Warriors begin a lighter schedule than they have previously seen. After 15 games in 29 days the team will play four games in 12 days to begin 2013. The Road Warriors welcome the Florida Everblades on Friday at 7 p.m. Greenville has a 5-1-0 season record against Florida with their only loss coming the last time the two teams played on December 1, 2012. The game was played in Florida and Greenville lost 4-3 in regulation.

Greenville hosts South Carolina on Saturday at 7 p.m. The Road Warriors got a good look at South Carolina having played them three times during the week of December 9th. Being divisional teams, the two have not met very much in the first half of the season. There will be eight games in the second half of the season between Greenville and South Carolina, including two three game series.

This Friday and Saturday is Cap' N' Crunch Weekend presented by WYFF and 92.5 WESC. On Friday, the first 1,000 fans receive a free T.J. Reynolds Banner! Hockey Happy Hour begins on at 5 p.m. with FREE FOOD, DISCOUNTED DRINKS AND ATTRACTIONS FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY presented by Chief's Wings and Firewater and ABC Party Rentals. The first 1,500 fans on Saturday receive a T.J. Reynolds Bobblehead!

Streaks and Stats

-The Road Warriors lead the Eastern Conference with 118 goals for.

-The Road Warriors are tied for the league lead with six wins when trailing after two periods.

-Brandon Wong is tied for second in the Eastern Conference scoring race with 37 points.

-Marc-Olivier Vallerand leads the ECHL with four shorthanded goals

-Steven Delisle leads the ECHL with a +20 rating.

Transactions

The Road Warriors swapped goalies with the Connecticut Whale on Thursday. Bryan Hince returned to Greenville after being released from his professional tryout with the Road Warriors AHL affiliate and Jason Missiaen was reassigned to Connecticut.

Steven Delisle and Jyri Niemi were reassigned to the Road Warriors on Saturday.
