ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week's action with an 8-38-4-0 record (6-15-3-0 at home, 2-23-1-0 on the road, 3-4 in overtime, 0-0 in shootouts) and in sixth place in the CENTRAL DIVISION...The ICE will finish with a record below the .500 mark for the first time since the 1998-99 campaign, ending a WHL record 16 year run of seasons with a .500 or better record (1999-2015)...KOOTENAY will open a season-long five game home stand with a matchup versus EDMONTON February 2.

ROSTER UPDATE: KOOTENAY is currently carrying 22 players (two goaltenders, seven defensemen and 13 forwards)...The ICE roster is made up of two 1995-born players, two 1996-born players, ten 1997-born players, seven 1998-born players and one 1999-born player...KOOTENAY has ten first-year players on its roster.

2 FOR 1 TUESDAYS: Take advantage of great deals with KOOTENAY ICE 2 FOR 1 TUESDAYS this season...At every Tuesday regular season home game, fans can enjoy 2 FOR 1 deals on walk-up tickets and select concession items from COYOTE JACK'S...The next 2 FOR 1 TUESDAY is February 2 when the ICE host the EDMONTON OIL KINGS.

PINK THE RINK NIGHT: Join the KOOTENAY ICE and WESTERN FINANCIAL GROUP for PINK THE RINK NIGHT February 26 versus EDMONTON...Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game and join the ICE in taking a stand against bullying...Parents of students in SCHOOL DISTRICTS 5 and 6 can contact their school office for details on how to attend one of our biggest nights of the season!

DID YOU KNOW: ZAK ZBOROSKY (19) and MATT ALFARO (14) both set new career highs for goals in a season January 29 in RED DEER...ZBOROSKY, who became the first KOOTENAY player to reach 20 markers this season January 31 in EDMONTON, is one point away from 100 career points...TANNER LISHCHYNSKY appeared in his 150th career game January 29 against the REBELS...WYATT HOFLIN is two games played shy of 150 career appearances...Only one netminder in ICE franchise history has played in 150 or more career regular season games (NATHAN LIEUWEN - 175)...VINCE LOSCHIAVO is one appearance shy of 100 career games played...KOOTENAY is the least-penalized team in the CENTRAL DIVISION with 582 total minutes in penalties (11.6 PIM / game)...Five of the last seven goals scored by the ICE have come on special teams (four power-play goals, one short-handed goal).

GAME TIME CHANGE: The home game to be played Wednesday, February 10 versus the TRI-CITY AMERICANS will now begin at the regular start time of 7:00 pm, instead of 12:00 pm.

INJURIES: Forward AUSTIN GRAY will be out of the ICE lineup day to day with an upper body injury...Forward JAEDON DESCHENEAU will be out of the KOOTENAY lineup indefinitely with an upper body injury.

ONE YEAR AGO: After 50 games of the 2014-15 season the ICE were 26-23-0-1, after 51 games 27-23-0-1 and after 52 games 27-24-0-1.
