WEEKEND PREVIEW - BULLS RETURN TO FACE MUDBUGS IN SHREVEPORT FOR TWO

THE TEAMS: Amarillo Bulls @ Shreveport Mudbugs

WHEN: Today, Mar. 17 and Saturday, Mar. 18 at 7:11 pm

WHERE: George's Pond - Hirsch Coliseum.

BROADCAST OPTIONS: Tune in live on CBS Sports Radio 1440, online at www.amarillobulls.com and on PPV with Hockey TV beginning with the Wayland Baptist University Warm Up Show at 6:45 pm on both nights. The puck drop follows at 7:11 pm.

BULLS NEXT AT HOME: The Amarillo Bulls return home on Friday, Mar. 24 and Saturday, Mar 25 versus the Odessa Jackalopes at 7 pm at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center. Friday is Community Options Night and Saturday is sponsored by Amarillo Youth Hockey. The Bulls will wear special jerseys with a live auction to follow after the game with proceeds to benefit that organization. It's also the return of the Sonic Family-Four-Pack for $44 (four tickets, four hotdogs, four sodas) and Sonic Bring-A-Bud-Pack for $22 (two tickets, two hotdogs and two sodas).

THE SERIES: It's the 9th and 10th meetings of the season between the Amarillo Bulls and the Shreveport Mudbugs. The Bulls managed to gain their first win of the season versus the Mudbugs last Saturday after a 2-1 win thanks to Colin Price's first goal of the season. Seven of the eight meetings have been decided by two goals or less.

SATURDAYS OKAY FOR WINNING: The Amarillo Bulls have posted victories in three of the last four Saturday nights. It started with a victory at home versus the Wichita Falls Wildcats and now it's continued with back to back Saturday wins over first place Lone Star Brahmas and 2nd place Shreveport Mudbugs.

BULLS NOTES: Seven of the Bulls 10 road victories have happened when they have led after 40 minutes. The Bulls also have four three goal wins this year. Of Brendan Walkom's 18 goals this season, he has four game winners and five first markers.

ACROSS THE SOUTH: Action in the South Division got underway on Wednesday night in Corpus Christi where the IceRays beat the Shreveport Mudbugs 3-2 in a shootout as Brad Power picked up his second of the game. Meantime the Topeka RoadRunners began their trip to Alaska by falling to Kenai River Brown Bears on Thursday night 3-1. There are two other South Division match-ups this weekend as the Corpus Christi IceRays head up to Odessa to meet the Jackalopes and the Wichita Falls Wildcats travel to North Richland Hills to face the Lone Star Brahmas.
