Tulsa 66ers News Release

Tulsa, Okla., April 3, 2009 - A Kyle Weaver tip-in with 0.2 seconds left on the clock helped the Tulsa 66ers defeat the Colorado 14ers 121-119 in an exciting Southwest Division battle, during the home finale for 2008-09 season at the SpiritBank Event Center. Weaver, on an NBA assignment from the Oklahoma City Thunder, finished with 24 points, 11 assists, seven rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots on the night.

"This was a great effort by our team to beat a really good team," 66ers Head Coach Paul Woolpert said. "We really wanted to send our fans home happy tonight."

Down by six with 10:30 remaining in the game, Tulsa made their run, and two dunks by Keith Clark and Ryan Humphrey shifted momentum towards the home team. A Derrick Dial three-pointer, then a subsequent jump shot by Dial tied the game at 108 with 6:30 remaining. The 66ers moved ahead by as much as four within the final minute, but two free throws by Eddie Gill and a Kentrell Gransberry lay-up tied the game at 119 with 11.0 seconds left.
