Washington Mystics Select McKenith & Meesseman

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Washington Mystics selected Nadirah McKenith and Emma Meesseman with the 17th and 19th picks respectively in the second round of the 2013 WNBA draft.
A 5-7 guard from St. John's University, McKenith led the Big East conference in assists (165) during her senior year, earning All-BIG EAST First Team honors. She averaged 10.3 points per game and 4.8 assists per game during her collegiate career.
Meesseman is a 6-4 center from Belgium. She is currently playing in France where she averages 12.3 points per game and 6.9 rebounds per game. In 2011, she was named FIBA's Europe Young Women's Player of the Year in 2011.
The Washington Mystics will open the 2013 season on Monday, May 27 against the Tulsa Shock in a game that will be televised on ESPN2 at 3:00 pm. Washington's home opener is set for June 2 at 4:00 pm against the Atlanta Dream.
