Warren Breaks Record as Thunder Down Bowie 3-0

Trenton, NJ - Adam Warren struck out a franchise-record 15 batters in seven innings in a 3-0 Thunder win over Bowie on Wednesday night. Warren allowed two hits and walked one in his record-breaking performance With the win Trenton (73-50) will remain at least 1 ½ games ahead in first place of the Eastern Division.

Warren (4-2) struck out five consecutive batters from the end of the first through the start of the third inning and stuck out the side four times. The righty from New Bern North Carolina broke the franchise record of 14 strikeouts set on August 14, 1994 by Shannon Withem. Bowie managed just one hit in the fourth and another in the fifth and had more than one runner on base just once off Warren.

Trenton took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a Dan Brewer single up the middle scoring Justin Christian. The Thunder would add a run in the sixth and another in the seventh on RBI doubles from Christian and Austin Romine.

With a 3-0 lead Warren was replaced by RHP George Kontos to start the eight. Kontos pitched a scoreless inning and Ryan Pope tossed the ninth to earn his 13th save of the season.
