Walleye Notes Perfect week: Toledo opened a three-game week with a Halloween night tilt in Worcester in which Tyler Barnes scored the game-winning goal in a 3-2 road win. In the first meeting of the year between Toledo and Kalamazoo, the Walleye used A.J. Jenks two goals to post a 5-2 home win over their Michigan rivals on Saturday night. Zach Nastasiuk scored on a breakaway in the early part of the third period on Sunday as the Walleye bested the Fuel 3-2 in Indy Sunday afternoon.
Huntington Center Rocking: Two games into the home schedule and the Walleye are a perfect two for two on the sellout with another 8,300 in attendance last night. Through two games Toledo leads the ECHL in average per game at 8,300. Last season Toledo had 20 sellouts over its 36 home contests.
Leading the way: Goaltender Pat Nagle has won four straight games and leads the ECHL with six wins in his first seven starts this year. His 1.97 goals against average is third best among goaltenders and has appeared in a league-best 457 minutes.
Back to Back this Week: It's an old school battle this week as the Walleye will play a home at home weekend series with the Wheeling Nailers starting Friday in Wheeling. The longtime ECHL rivals will see the scene switch to Toledo on Saturday night. Toledo has an all-time ECHL record of 101-72-16 against Wheeling.
Veterans Night in Toledo: Saturday is a special night at the Huntington Center as the Walleye pay tribute to the men and woman who are or have served in our countries military. The night will feature a pregame ceremony and is sponsored by Owens Community College and BCAN. For every ticket purchased with the special promo code VETS, the Walleye will donate $5 to local organizations to bring an area vet to an upcoming game.
Walleye Player of the Week: Christian Hilbrich (2 goals - 2 assists 4 points)
Walleye Goaltender of the Week: Pat Nagle (3-0-0, 2.03 GAA, .933 save %)
