TOLEDO, Ohio - Tylor Spink scored and added an assist and Jake Paterson made 20 saves on the way to a shutout as the host Toledo Walleye (15-3-0 ) blanked the Quad City Mallards (11-8-1) 3-0 Satur day night.

Tylor Spink gave Toledo a 1-0 lead by racing into the Mallard goalmouth to backhand home a centering feed from Tyson Spink at 12:35 of the first period. Zach Nastasiuk scored the second Walleye goal from the right wing circle at 16:37 of the first.

Tyler Sikura stretched the lead to three while tumbling in front of the Mallard net at 8:07 of the second period.

Paterson was at his busiest while making ten third period saves to preserve his shutout.

The Mallards next play on home ice next Wednesday night against the Kalamazoo Wings. That game and a ll Mallards Wednesday night home games this season face off at the special early start time of 6:35.
