Moncton Wildcats News Release

The Wildcats put on a dominant performance tonight as they blanked the Rimouski Océanic 5-0 at the Moncton Coliseum.

It was a full team effort for the Cats with back-to-back wins for them yesterday and tonight. Kelly Klima opened the scoring with a power play goal at 7:05 of the first on a feed from Malatesta and Kevin Klima. Moncton would continue to grow their lead with another first period goal from Cam Askew, assists went to Adam Holwell and Manuel Wiederer.

The Cats would then go onto score three more in the second to make the final 5-0. Wiederer notched a short handed goal early in the second frame, followed by Cam Askew's second goal of the night, and the final goal came from Jeremy McKenna.

Matt Waite was outstanding in nets tonight, turning away all 28 Rimouski shots for his first shutout in a Wildcats jersey!

The Cats are back on home ice October 21st and 22nd with games against Bathurst and Val d'Or for Pink in the Rink weekend! For tickets call 857-4100 or get yours online at www.tickets.moncton.ca
