A Note From Quint Studer

What a great way for the UWF football home schedule to end! It was a big win for the Argos on the field as well as off the field. Despite some tough luck weather, the Argos drew great crowds, created excitement on campus and downtown. A big Wahoo congrats to the coaches, staff and players.

Thank you to the thousands that enjoyed Field of Screams and Wahooloween. When one door shuts, another one opens. When we heard that the city decided not to have trick or treating on Palafox (for safety reasons), we were grateful to step in. We hope you feel we took the event up several notches. Not only a great time, the Pensacola Little Theatre and Chain Reaction both raised money as non-profits. Planning has already started for next year and all ideas are welcomed. 

Thank you to the thousands that came out to support youth sports with the Soul Bowl. The children had such a special time. We thank Luman May for spearheading this special experience. We also had a great turnout with Public Safety Day with first responders from the State of Florida, Escambia County and City of Pensacola.

Now we move on towards Pensacola EggFest. This is another super event for a great cause. Read more about it in this newsletter.

When the idea of a park and stadium was introduced in 2005, we hoped that it will become a gathering place for the community and attract private investment downtown to revitalize downtown. The facts show this as taking place.

Congratulations to Tucker Barnhart on winning his first career Gold Glove! He is the first Blue Wahoos player to ever be awarded a Gold Glove and the first Reds catcher to win it since Johnny Bench in 1977.

The Blue Wahoos would like to welcome Nick Castillo and Tyler Berridge to the team! They both join the Blue Wahoos as Group Sales Executives. Nick joins the team after working with the Norfolk Tides while Tyler worked with the Blue Wahoos as an Operations Trainee!
