VanOekel, Ledgerwood Earn NASL Team of the Week Honours

FC Edmonton's Matt VanOekel and Nik Ledgerwood were both selected to the North American Soccer League's (NASL) Team of the Week for Week 3. VanOekel registered his sixth clean of 2016 in a 1-0 win over Ottawa Fury FC, while Ledgerwood collected his first goal as an Eddie in his team's seventh win of the year.

GK: Matt VanOekel (FC Edmonton) - The Eddies shot-stopper helped the club keep a clean sheet, despite playing with 10 men. He made three key saves as FC Edmonton defeated Ottawa Fury FC, 1-0.

DEF: Justin Chavez (Tampa Bay Rowdies) - Filling in at center back, he helped cool the in-form Héctor Ramos in the Rowdies' 3-0 win.

DEF: Rhett Bernstein (Miami FC) - He was a key reason why Miami FC earned its first win of the Fall Season in a 1-0 victory against Jacksonville Armada FC. Bernstein clocked in with 13 duels won, made four clearances, and won all four tackles he went into.

DEF: Nemanja Vukovic (Indy Eleven) - The fullback put in two strong performances with Indy picking up one win (3-0 over the Fort Lauderdale Strikers) and one loss (2-0 at Minnesota United) in Week 3. In total, he won 13 duels, made seven interceptions, and three clearances. He was also a factor going forward, creating six chances for his team across the pair of games.

MID: Andrés Flores (New York Cosmos) - The Salvadoran international scored a goal and created another in the Cosmos' 3-0 win against Jacksonville Armada FC last Wednesday night.

MID: Joe Cole (Tampa Bay Rowdies) - The English star scored a stunning bicycle kick to set the tone in Tampa Bay's victory over Puerto Rico FC. Cole also completed 43 of his 48 pass attempts and created one chance.

MID: Nik Ledgerwood (FC Edmonton) - The Canadian international scored the lone goal in the Eddies' win. Ledgerwood completed 41 of his 50 passes, while creating two chances, and made three interceptions to go along with two clearances.

MID: Derek Boateng (Rayo OKC) - The Ghanaian international was strong in the midfield as Rayo OKC earned a 2-2 draw against Puerto Rico FC. He then helped close the door in the win over the Cosmos, while adding an assist on Georgios Samaras' first NASL goal to cap off the night.

MID: Michel (Rayo OKC) - The Brazilian midfielder continues to shine. He scored the equalizing goal from the penalty spot in Rayo OKC's 2-2 comeback draw against Puerto Rico FC during a midweek contest. Michel then added two more goals, one from the spot and another from a top-class free kick, to lead his side past the New York Cosmos in 3-0 win.

FWD: Brian Shriver (Carolina RailHawks) - He scored the only goal of the game as Carolina defeated the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, 1-0.

FWD: Christian Ramirez (Minnesota United) - Minnesota's front man added to his league-leading goalscoring tally, which is now at 10 goals. He got redemption finishing off a penalty kick and then scored another goal five minutes later to lead the Loons past Indy Eleven, 2-0, to snap the Boys in Blue's unbeaten run.
