Van Impe Signs Player Agreement with Chiefs

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs announced today that defenseman Eric Van Impe has signed a Standard Player Agreement and committed to playing in the Western Hockey League. Van Impe was the Chiefs' Second Round (30th Overall) pick in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.
"We are proud to have Eric take this step and commit to playing for our team," Chiefs General Manager Tim Speltz said. "He is an exciting prospect and we expect him to be a big part of our organization in the future."
A 6-foot, 150-pound defenseman from Calgary, Alberta, Van Impe scored 15 goals and 28 assists in 36 games with the Calgary CNHA Northstar Sabres BAAA team last season. As a 2001-born player, he is eligible to join the Chiefs full-time during the 2017-18 WHL season.
