BOSTON (Tuesday) - United Women's Lacrosse League (UWLX) players performed a vital role in a dominant five-game tour by the U.S. Women's National Lacrosse Team over the past week, with 20 of the 24 rostered players for the trip currently being members of UWLX clubs. The U.S. was unbeaten in five matches during the tour, which was held at Surrey Sports Park in Guildford, England.

In that contest, Philadelphia Force attacker Alyssa Murray tallied five goals to lead the American offense, with hat tricks also coming from Taylor Cummings (Baltimore Ride), Shannon Gilroy (Long Island Sound) and Michelle Tumolo (Philadelphia Force).

The next day, the U.S. picked up another pair of wins, shutting out Scotland, 20-0, that morning before taking down England that evening, 20-2. Cummings paced the American attack with five goals against Scotland, while Murray contributed a hat trick. In the England game, Gilroy led the offense with four tallies, and Murray scored another hat trick in that encounter as well.

On the final day of competition, the U.S. side registered two more dominant victories, defeating Germany by a tally of 19-1 before knocking off Wales, 20-1. Danielle Etrasco (Boston Storm) led the American offense with four goals against Germany, while Brooke Griffin (Baltimore Ride) added a hat trick and three assists. In the evening match, the U.S. saw a game-high four-notch effort from Kayla Treanor (Boston Storm), while Tumolo and Laura Zimmerman also put way hat tricks.

After taking off this past weekend, the UWLX will return to action on Friday night as the Boston Storm (3-2) and Long Island Sound (5-0) meet at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School in Sudbury, Mass., with opening draw slated for 7:00 p.m. On Saturday afternoon, the Baltimore Ride (2-3) and Philadelphia Force (0-5) will meet at Vonnie Gross Field in West Chester, Penn., and that contest is set for a 4:00 p.m. start.
