Goal of the Week - Tyrell Burgess, Vancouver Whitecaps In a 3-1 road victory last Friday night on Fox Soccer Channel rookie Tyrell Burgess hits a stunning shot past Timothy Melia into the back of the net. Continue [+] Charleston visit Vancouver Friday on FSC The Vancouver Whitecaps welcome the Charleston Battery to Swangard Stadium Friday night on Fox Soccer Channel at 11:00 pm ET. This is the second encounter between the two clubs in 2009, following a 0-0 draw on the opening day of the season back on April 11.
Just prior to the USL-1 match, catch the W-League Championship live from Washington, D.C. in a matchup between the Washington Freedom and Pali Blues on FSC (Friday - 7:00 pm ET). USL Championship coverage continues Tuesday night on FSC as the Chicago Fire and Ventura County Fusion go head-to-head for PDL supremacy at 7:30pm ET. Continue [+] Islanders advance in Champions League On a night of missed chances, the capitalizing of an error in the first leg by the Islanders for the lone goal loomed larger and larger as each minute ticked away at Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium in Puerto Rico Tuesday. In the end, Major League Soccer's Toronto FC was unable to find a way past Bill Gaudette, who sent the USL-1 side onto the Group Stage of the CONCACAF Champions League for a second straight year in the 0-0 draw.
