Univision's "Senadora" model to make appearance at Sueño MLS 09 - built by The Home Depot

Washington, D.C. (March 17, 2009) - Alba Galindo, one of the "Senadora" models on Univision's popular weekly sports show "República Deportiva" (Sports Republic), will be making an appearance this weekend at D.C. United's tryouts for Sueño MLS 2009 - built by The Home Depot. Alba will be available for pictures and autographs on Saturday, March 21 from 2:30pm - 4:00 p.m. at the Maryland SoccerPlex.
The tryouts will take place at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Germantown, MD on Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22. Among the scouts evaluating talent will be former United star Raúl Díaz Arce and D.C. United Director of Youth Development John Maessner. Waiting list spots are still available by visiting www.SuenoMLS.com. Additionally, players are invited to visit the SoccerPlex on Saturday as a select number of spots will be available on a "walk-on" basis.
Now in its third year, Sueño MLS expands to three markets, including for the first time cities in the Midwest and East Coast. United, the Chicago Fire and the LA Galaxy will each host tryouts, with four local winners from each city moving on to an exciting four-day "Final Event" in Los Angeles. The finals will include training sessions, scrimmages, guest celebrity scouts, and an opportunity to meet some of the league's biggest stars at the "SuperClasico" game between the LA Galaxy and Chivas USA on April 11. The ultimate champion will be crowned on Sunday, April 12, live (EST) on "República Deportiva" (see calendar below for more information).
"República Deportiva," the highest-rated weekly sports magazine program on Spanish-language television in the United States which airs nationally every Sunday, will follow the action weekly in a unique "reality show within a show" format.

PARTICIPANT ELIGIBILITY:
Eligible players must be at least 16 years old (with appropriate identification) and retain their amateur status. Current collegiate student athletes will not be permitted to attend the final event in Los Angeles. Sueño MLS participants will be responsible for all personal expenses associated with the local market tryout, including travel to local tryouts, lodging, food, soccer equipment (shoes, training gear, etc.), etc. Program sponsors will cover all expenses for twelve (12) participants selected to attend the final event in Los Angeles, CA.
