This was the 26th meeting between United and Toronto FC. United are 13-9-4 against Toronto all-time. United are 8-5-1 at BMO Field all-time. United won at BMO for the first time since July 5, 2014 (2-1 victory). United won for the first time after allowing the first goal (1-7-6). United scored multiple goals for the seventh consecutive match. United extended their unbeaten streak to five matches. United won on the road for the second time this season and first since May 27 against Sporting KC. Collin Martin made his first MLS appearance since Oct. 25, 2014. United scored at least one goal for the 14th consecutive match. Julian B-scher made his second career MLS start. Lamar Neagle made his 20th MLS start of 2016. Neagle scored his team-leading eighth and ninth goals of the year, tied for the most in a season in his career (2014). Luciano Acosta made his 30th MLS appearance. Steve Birnbaum made his 25th start of 2016, marking the first time he has logged 25 starts in a season. Rob Vincent made his 10th MLS start (sixth consecutive).
