Player Notes
Sean Franklin made his 250th career MLS regular season appearance. Jared Jeffrey made his 50th career MLS regular season appearance. Kofi Opare made his second straight MLS start. Sébastien Le Toux scored his 59th career MLS goal, moving him into seventh among active players. Luciano Acosta scored his third goal of the season and first since April 8. Acosta recorded his first assist of 2017. It was the first match in which Acosta scored and recorded an assist since Aug. 27, 2016 and the second time in his career. Franklin recorded his first assist of 2017 and 27th of his career. Chris Odoi-Atsem made his MLS and D.C. United debut when he replace Lloyd Sam in the 90th minute. Bill Hamid made six saves, marking the fifth time this season Hamid has recorded at least five saves. Patrick Mullins made his first appearance since March 18.

This was the first-ever meeting between the two sides. United are now 1-0 against Atlanta and 1-0 at Bobby Dodd Stadium.
