December 31, 2017 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) - Milwaukee Wave
The Six-Time Champion Milwaukee Wave look to keep their winning streak alive Sunday afternoon at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena as they face the rival Kansas City Comets.
Kick-off is scheduled for 5:05pm.
"We're taking it one day and one game at a time," said Milwaukee Wave Assistant Coach Marcio Leite. "We are strategically looking for the win in past game footage and are methodically preparing for Sunday. We need to make sure everybody is staying sharp, working hard, and playing like we are 0-0."
The Wave last saw The Comets last Friday, December 22nd in Kansas City with Comets making a late charge in the fourth quarter.

"That has really been a weakness of ours and some progress needs to be made," said Leite. "Last Friday wasn't the first time Kanas City has scored four or five goals with their sixth attacker and that cannot happen again because that can really hurt us down the road."
Tickets are still available for Sunday's (New Year's Eve) 5:05pm game at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena and can be purchased online at MilwaukeeWave.com, any Ticket Master Outlet or at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena Box Office the day of the game. ###

MARIO LEITE EARNS MASL WEEK 9 - TEAM OF THE WEEK HONORS!
The Holiday Weekend featured only four games, but there was no shortage of action. Six players arounf the MASL definitely earned their way onto the 'Nice' list with their performance and one of them was Milwaukee Wave Midfeilder, Marcio Leite.
Leite scored the opening goal of the game against Kansas City and never looked back. He helped the team pull away for a big lead, then hold on as the Comets mounted their fourth quarter rally.
"It's not something that usually happens to me," said Leite. "I think it's the first time in my career where I actually scored four goals in a game. Usually I'm a person that thinks an assist is just as valuable as a goal, but in that specific game, the first two shots I took went in. So therefore, my confidence skyrocketed and then after that everything just kind of clicked. It's not something that I'm used to, that's for sure."
The MASL Team of the Week is selected using the Stars awarded at each game and by soliciting nominations from each team. Players nominated by teams were each awarded three points and stars were awarded 3 points (1st Star), 2 points (2nd star) and 1 Point (3rd star) respectively.
