Ullan, Hartje Listed in Midterm NHL Draft Rankings
NEW YORK, NY - For the third straight ranking interval, current Bismarck Bobcats goaltender Ryan Ullan and former Bobcat defenseman Chase Hartje have been recognized by NHL Central Scouting as the service released its 2018 NHL Draft Midterm Rankings on Monday.
Ullan, 17, is listed as the #24 North American goaltender while Hartje, 18, is rated the #181 North American skater. The Midterm Rankings are the first listing that individually ranks players rather than assigning them a letter grade.
"It's an honor to continue to be listed by Central Scouting," state Ullan, who hails from Hibbing, Minn., "and it's also a big motivator for me to continue to work to improve my game to stay on the rankings list as our season goes on here in Bismarck."
Recently committed to Northern Michigan University, Ullan is 10-9-2 in net for the Bobcats this season with a 2.66 GAA and a .909 SV% in 22 appearances.
Hartje had six points (2g, 4a) in nine appearances with the Bobcats in 2016-17; the Bemidji, Minn., native has 17 assists in 37 games in the major junior WHL between the Moose Jaw Warriors and Brandon Wheat Kings.
Ullan and Hartje are only the third and fourth current or former Bobcats to receive a draft ranking from Central Scouting, joining Zach Yon (#169 North American skater, 2014) and Roope Hintz (#14 European skater, 2015).
On the ice, Ullan and the Bobcats hit the road for a big divisional weekend against the Austin Bruins, with 7:05pm contests on Friday and Saturday against their interstate rivals.
