April 24, 2011 - Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL) News Release


HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, KY - Ricardo Lenhart set a new Ultimate Indoor Football League record with six touchdowns receptions as Northern Kentucky (8-1) became the first team in the league to clinch a berth in the playoffs with a 64-56 victory Saturday over Saginaw (6-3) in UIFL action at the Bank of Kentucky Center.

Saginaw's Tommy Jones also recorded a new UIFL record with 332 yards passing on 25-of-47 passing and six touchdowns. Jared Lorenzen didn't have a shabby day throwing the rock either. The left-handers threw for 327 yards on 30-of-40 passing and seven touchdowns.

JOHNSTOWN 41, EASTERN KENTUCKY 37: Johnstown (3-6) overcame a 14-0 deficit to win their second straight game Friday, downing Eastern Kentucky 41-37 on U.S. Army Field at the Cambria War Memorial Arena.

Generals quarterback Taveres Woodley threw for four touchdowns in the victory, two of which went to Steve Slatcoff.

Matthew Barbour had a good game for the Drillers (4-5) with 101 yards on 11 catches and three touchdowns. Kicker Daniel Eidson turned in a perfect kicking night, going 4-for-4 on extra points and 3-for-3 on field goals of 55, 47 and 29 yards.

HUNTINGTON 67, CANTON 33: Huntington (5-4) scored the first 23 points of the game en route to snapping a three-game losing streak by pasting Canton (1-8), 67-33, Saturday at the Canton Civic Center.

Martavious Young threw for four touchdowns and ran for two more in the Hammer win. Thomas Riley hauled in half of Young's scoring strikes.

Ray Marrow continues to put up good numbers for the Cougars, throwing for five touchdowns with 214 yards. Cody Smith had a game-high 14 tackles in the loss.
