Tyson Key in Bringing Buffalo Victory Over Cape Cod, 118-110

December 29, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Buffalo Silverbacks News Release

The Buffalo Silverbacks held off a 4th quarter comeback by the Cape Cod Frenzy and won 118-110. Johnny "Spyderman" Tyson was an insult to Cape Cod's defense, literally stuffing the ball down their throats with 28 points, 12 rebounds and 11 monster blocks. Lamar Castile and his unstoppable crossover brought home 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists.

Tyson was dominant all night in the low post, and had his best performance of the year to date. Castile, who entered the game about half way through the first quarter, came off the bench and lit the floor up, giving the Silverbacks just the spark they needed to bury the Frenzy by the half leading 63-35. After maintaining a lead of more than 30 points in the third, Buffalo pulled their starters and let them take a well deserved rest. Cape Cod had a strong showing in the 4th, but it was just too much ground for them to cover.

Saturday night Buffalo is back in action at home versus the Quebec City Kebekwa. The tip off is at 8:05 and doors open at 7:30. This makes Buffalo's 6th home win in 7 games and brings their overall record to 6-7.
