Ty Tullio, Dylan Robinson & David Gucciardi Win Gold with GTHL Blue at 2018 OHL Gold Cup

Team GTHL Blue, OMHA Black, HNO and NOHA claimed tournament-closing victories on Sunday during Day 4 of the 2018 OHL Gold Cup at the Activa Sportsplex in Kitchener, Ont.

A total of 130 players chosen in April's OHL Priority Selection represented their respective minor hockey associations in the annual showcase event.

Here's a look at Sunday's championship action.

CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL:

GTHL BLUE 8 (4-0-0-0) - GTHL RED 2 (2-1-1-0)

It came down to an all-GTHL Championship Final and GTHL Blue proved too much for GTHL Red as Will Cuylle (PBO) and Dylan Robinson (OSH) both had two goals in an 8-2 victory to close out the tournament.

Stephen Halliday (NIAG) had a goal and two helpers while other markers came from Jake Uberti (NIAG), Liam Babcock (KGN) and Kyle Jackson (NB) as GTHL Blue captured gold, giving a GTHL club top spot at the annual showcase for the fourth straight year.

GTHL Blue outshot GTHL Red 40-27 as goaltender Tristan Lennox (SAG) made 25 saves, surrendering Red goals from Vaughan Kings teammates Ryan O'Rourke (SSM) and Cole Perfetti (SAG).

GTHL Blue finishes with a perfect record of 4-0-0-0 while GTHL Red played to a 2-1-1-0 mark.

Uberti finished as the event's leading scorer with nine points (4-5-9) in four games while teammate Cuylle finished tied for the goal-scoring title with five.

Perfetti led GTHL Red in tournament scoring with six points (4-2-6).

BRONZE MEDAL GAME:

OMHA BLACK 7 (3-0-1-0) - OMHA WHITE (2-2-0-0)

Another inter-league showdown saw OMHA Black defeat OMHA White by a score of 7-3 to claim bronze at the 2018 OHL Gold Cup.

Ryan Smith (SBY) scored a pair of goals while Evan Vierling (FLNT) chipped in with three assists to lead the way to victory.

Tied 3-3 after two periods, OMHA Black pulled away in the third with four unanswered goals as Ty Collins (GUE) netted the power play winner 1:07 into he final stanza.

Spencer Smith (GUE), Brody Waters (OS) and defencemen Alec Belanger (OTT) and Zack Terry (GUE) added goals for OMHA Black while goaltender Owen Bennett (GUE) made 23 saves.

Belanger led OMHA Black in tournament scoring with eight points (1-7-8), a figure that also led all tournament blueliners offensively.

Ryan Mansfield (FLNT), Jakson Kirk (PBO) and Cameron Snow (NIAG) were goal-scorers for OMHA White.

Logan Morrison (HAM) led OMHA White in tournament scoring with five goals in four games.

OHL GOLD CUP BRONZE MEDALISTS (OMHA BLACK): Jack Bar (PBO), Alec Belanger (OTT), Owen Bennett (GUE), Cameron Butler (PBO), Quinton Byfield (SBY), Ethan Cardwell (SAG), Ty Collins (GUE), Will Cranley (OTT), Tyson Foerster (BAR), James Hardie (MISS), Owen Luik (OTT), Jake Murray (KGN), Luc Reeve (PBO), Owen Shier (WSR), Ryan Smith (SBY), Spencer Smith (GUE), Zack Terry (GUE), Evan Vierling (FLNT), Jacob Vreugdenhil (NIAG), Brody Waters (OS).

CONSOLATION FINAL:

HNO 4 (2-2-0-0) - ALLIANCE 3 (1-2-0-1) - SO

The Consolation Final of the 2018 OHL Gold Cup came down to a shootout as Ryan Beck (BAR) netted the game winner to lift Team HNO to a 4-3 victory over Team ALLIANCE.

Michael Stubbs (MISS) and Sahil Panwar (LDN) also scored shootout goals for HNO as they wrapped things up with a 2-2-0-0 record. Goaltender Eric Vanska made 29 saves in regulation before stopping three of the five ALLIANCE shooters he faced in the shootout.

Stubbs, Beck and Colby Ambrosio (OTT) scored goals for HNO while all three ALLIANCE markers came from Matthew Maggio (OTT).

Beck, Ambrosio and Jacob Perreault (SAR) finished in a three-way tie for HNO's tournament scoring lead with four points each.

Maggio, defenceman Nathan Small (OS) and forward Joseph Serpa (KIT) each had four points for Team ALLIANCE while goaltender Mathias Onuska (KGN) let all netminders with a 1.51 goals-against average and a .950 save percentage.

CONSOLATION BRONZE GAME:

NOHA 4 (2-2-0-0) - HEO 3 (0-4-0-0)

Defenceman Benjamin Brunette scored a pair of goals including the third period game winner as Team NOHA edged Team HEO to claim consolation bronze on Sunday morning.

Brunette's third period marker came on the power play four minutes into the frame and would stand as the difference-maker as NOHA finished with a 2-2-0-0 record.

Hunter Brazier (OSH) and Samuel Vachon tacked on goals for NOHA while netminder Owen Kilganon made 34 saves, backstopping his team to victory despite being outshot 37-28.

Gavin Brown, David Campbell (NB) and Giordano Biondi (SBY) finished in a three-way tie for the NOHA scoring lead with four points each.

Team HEO carried the play but came away empty-handed, getting a pair of goals from Sean McGurn (LDN) while Josh Barnes (OS) added a single and Kyle McDonald (WSR) had a pair of assists.

McGurn led HEO in tournament scoring with five points (3-2-5).

Hunter Brazier (OSH) was Player of the Game for Team NOHA.
