Daytona Tortugas News Release

Fort Myers, FL - The Florida State League announced the 2016 All-Star teams Friday afternoon, which includes two Daytona Tortugas. Outfielder Aristides Aquino and closer Jimmy Herget have been chosen to represent the Tortugas at the 55th annual FSL All-Star Game. The game will take place at Hammond Stadium, the home of the Fort Myers Miracle, on Saturday, June 18, with first pitch at 7:05 PM.

Aristides Aquino is batting .256 with six homeruns and 21 RBI in 56 games. Aquino's eight outfield assists lead the league. Aquino was named the FSL player of the week at the end of April, during a stretch where he homered six times in nine games. He is batting .321 in his last 21 games, recording a hit in 19 of those contests. It's the first time Aquino has been named a Mid-Season All-Star in his six years, after being named a Postseason All-Star with Billings (R) in 2014.

Jimmy Herget is 2-2 with a 1.78 ERA in 20 relief appearances. He is a perfect 8-for-8 in save opportunities, while the rest of the team has combined to go 6-for-11. Herget is tied for the league lead with 20 appearances and ranks second with the eight saves, only trailing Lakeland's Joe Jimenez (10). Herget has allowed an earned run in just five of 20 appearances and has never surrendered multiple earned runs. It will be his first career All-Star appearance in his second season in the Reds organization.

Tickets for the FSL All-Star Game are available by calling the Miracle (239) 768-4210.
