Two Sox Homers in Second Loss

After two straight wins over the Chico Outlaws, the Reno Silver Sox fell Sunday at Nettleton Stadium by a score of 9-6. Both teams are now 2-2 in the second half of the season.

1B Mike Done hit his second home run of the year in the second inning off Outlaw starter Tyler Pearson. Pearson pitched 7.1 innings allowing six runs on nine hits earning his fourth victory of the season.

Reno starter Matt Parris was forced to throw over 90 pitches in four innings and left the game allowing five runs on six hits. Josh Evans came in and pitched four innings out of the bullpen in relief of Parris.

In addition to playing excellent defense, RF Ryan Kowalski went 3-3 at the plate and scored two runs.

DH Juan Senreiso hit his sixth home run of the year in the eight inning to make it a two run game, but the Outlaws added another run in the bottom of the inning and Reno did not score in the ninth.

SS Jesse Kovacs was the man the Sox had trouble with, as he went 3-4 with a home run and five RBI.

Monday?s game will be the rubber match of this three game series. James Johnson will take the mound for the Sox facing Derrick Loop, the only left hander on the Outlaw pitching staff. Coverage begins at 6:45 on ESPN Radio 630 and here on silversoxbaseball.com.

The team returns home to faceYuma in a three game series starting Tuesday night.
