Arkansas Diamonds News Release

(North Little Rock, AR) - The Arkansas Twisters have now finalized their 2009, 10 Year Anniversary Season coaching staff. Returning to lead the way is Coach Chris Siegfried. Adding championship caliber coaches has been a priority of Coach Siegfried's. The new coaches that the Twisters are welcoming to central Arkansas are Robert Thomas, Omar Smith and Travis Crusenberry.

Coach Robert Thomas is entering his first full time coaching season. Coach Thomas (Jacksonville, AR) started his college football career at Henderson State University. As a Reddie, Thomas dominated the field playing linebacker. After college, Thomas was picked up as a free agent by the Dallas Cowboys where he was converted and thrived as a fullback. Coach Thomas' big moment in the big show was when he was the lead blocker for Emmitt Smith as he broke the NFL's All time leading rusher record.

Coach Omar Smith, much like Coach Thomas will be entering his first full time coaching season. Coach Smith comes to the Twister with a lot of championship jewelry. Coach Smith has won 4 ArenaBowl Championships with the San Jose SaberCats. Coach Thomas has been a very versatile player playing 3 different positions while in college at San Jose State University. In 2004, during the Championship game was voted the ArenaBowl Defensive MVP.

Coach Travis Crusenberry is a more seasoned veteran when it comes to coaching. Entering his fifth full time coaching season and fourth with Head Coach Chris Siegfried, Coach Crusenberry is excited about the level of talent on the offensive and defensive lines. He has also won an ArenaCup Championship with Coach Siegfried in Spokane (2006) and likes our chances with this team. Coach Crusenberry played his college ball at East Tennessee State University where he started every game in his college career and was an All Conference selection (Southern Conference).

"The staff we had last season was full of good character and well rounded coaches, much like this season. The only difference is we now have more Championship rings", Head Coach Chris Siegfried.
