Turple Re-Joins Wolves

The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned goaltender DAN TURPLE from the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators to the Chicago Wolves.

TURPLE appeared in eight contests with Gwinnett (2-4-1), notching a 3.81 goals-against average and .874 save percentage. The 24-year-old netminder also backstopped two matchups with the Utah Grizzlies (ECHL), posting a 3.69 goals-against average and .909 save percentage in a pair of shootout losses.

The Hamilton, Ontario, native began the season with Chicago, posting a 5-8-0 record with a 2.94 goals-against average and .897 save percentage in 13 contests, which includes allowing two or fewer goals in six of outings during his rookie season in the American Hockey League.

Last season, TURPLE backstopped 30 matchups with the Gladiators last season, posting a 15-12-2 record, with a 3.16 goals-against average. He also made his AHL debut in one game with the Grand Rapids Griffins, notching a 3.00 goals-against average in 20 minutes of action.

The Wolves return to action on Wednesday when they take on the Quad City Flames at I Wireless Arena at 7 p.m.
