Pawtucket, RI - The Syracuse Chiefs beat the Pawtucket Red Sox, 6-4, Wednesday night at McCoy Stadium. Trea Turner doubled home two runs to break a ninth-inning tie and give the Chiefs a second straight win.

Syracuse (33-38) started the scoring in the second inning. The Chiefs loaded the bases with one out against Aaron Wilkerson after Pedro Severino singled, Matt den Dekker was hit by a pitch, and Caleb Ramsey singled. After Scott Sizemore struck out, Trea Turner walked to force in a run and give the Chiefs a 1-0 lead. Steve Lombardozzi flied out from there, the first of three-straight innings the Chiefs would leave the bases loaded.

After the Chiefs left the bases loaded again in the third, Turner tripled with one out in the fourth inning against Wesley Wright. After a walk to Lombardozzi, Brian Goodwin singled home Turner for a 2-0 lead. Matt Skole followed with a ground ball to first. Chris Marrero's throw to second sailed high into left field, allowing Lombardozzi to score on the error for a 3-0 advantage. Severino singled to again load the bases, but den Dekker and Jason Martinson struck out to leave them loaded.

Pawtucket (38-35) started its comeback in the bottom of the fourth. Henry Ramos hit his first career triple-A home run off Taylor Hill to bring the score to 3-1.

The Chiefs got the run back in the top of the fifth. Ramsey and Sizemore each singled and Turner walked to load the bases for a fourth inning in a row. Lombardozzi then bounced into a 5-4-3 double play, but Ramsey scored from third to extend the lead to 4-1.

The PawSox again answered with a run in the bottom of the frame. Ryan Court and Mike Miller each singled to start the inning. Three batters later, Jantzen Witte singled home Court to bring the PawSox within two.

The game remained 4-2 until the eighth. Juan Gutierrez surrendered back-to-back doubles to Rusney Castillo and Witte, bringing Pawtucket within a run. After a strikeout, Syracuse turned to Bryan Harper who got Ramos to hit a ground ball to short. Turner recorded the first out a second, but Ramos beat the return throw to first, allowing Witte to score and tie the game.

But the Chiefs again would get the runs back an inning later. Den Dekker hit a fly ball to left field that Bryce Brentz dropped for a key error. After a sacrifice bunt moved den Dekker to third, the PawSox elected to intentionally walk Caleb Ramsey. The decision paid off in the short term as Roman Mendez struck out Sizemore for the second out. But Turner followed with the game-winning two-run double to left-center field to give the Chiefs a 6-4 lead. Rafael Martin recorded his 14th save in the ninth.

The Chiefs and PawSox will wrap up the five-game, four-day series Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. Austin Voth is scheduled to start for Syracuse opposite Justin Haley for Pawtucket.
