Tulsa Oilers Unveil Opening Night Roster

October 18, 2013 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Tulsa Oilers News Release

TULSA, OK - After a week and a half of training camp, one preseason game, and many hours of evaluation, Tulsa Oilers Head Coach, Bruce Ramsay has set his roster for opening night of the 2013-14 season when the Oilers visit the Denver Cutthroats.

In Friday's opener the Oilers will carry ten forwards, six defensemen, and two goaltenders.

Forward Kyle Bochek and defenseman Jake Obermeyer were the latest additions to the Oilers squad. Bochek, entering his fifth pro season, posted career highs in assists (25) and points (37) in 55 games with the Bloomington Blaze during the 2012-13 season. A 25-year old from Port Severn, Ontario, Bochek has also spent time with the Missouri Mavericks and former CHL club, the Dayton Gems. Bochek, 6-0, 200 pounds, led the Gems in penalty minutes for two straight seasons and was a part of Dayton's run to the playoffs in 2011.

Obermeyer, a 6-2, 190-pound blue-liner, joins the Oilers after playing the last three seasons as a member of the Evansville Icemen in the CHL and ECHL. The Chanhassen, Minnesota native started his pro career in the CHL with the Amarillo Gorillas before moving on to the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees.
