Tulsa Holds off Austin for 91-90 Win

AUSTIN, Texas - The Tulsa 66ers held off the Austin Toros to close their three-game roadtrip with a 91-90 win at Cedar Park Center in Austin, Texas.

Oklahoma City Thunder assignee DeAndre Liggins posted 13 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists and three steals. Fellow Thunder assignee Daniel Orton scored eight points with seven boards and four blocked shots.

Trailing Austin, 90-89, in the final minute, the 66ers defense forced a 24 second violation with 24.8 seconds to play. Tulsa went for a quick bucket - a made layup by Tony Taylor - with 20.5 left on the clock to take a one-point lead.

The Tulsa defense stepped up again, forcing a missed 3-point attempt by Lester Hudson with two seconds to go. After losing the ball on the inbound pass, Rasual Butler blocked a 3-point shot from Ryan Ayers as the clock expired.

Butler led the 66ers with 20 points alongside four rebounds and five blocks. The NBA veteran shot 4-for-5 from 3-point range as the 66ers shot 10-for-18 (.556) behind the arc. Tulsa has made 10 or more 3-pointers in four consecutive games.

Taylor collected 18 points, three rebounds and a pair of assists while Dominique Sutton added 10 points, five rebounds and two assists.

The 66ers (26-20) outrebounded the Toros, 52-43. Tulsa dished out 21 assists while blocking 11 shots.

The Toros (25-21) were led by Hudson's 23 points.

The two squads face off again Saturday night, this time at Tulsa's SpiritBank Event Center. The 7 p.m. contest is Thunder Affiliate Night, featuring the Thunder's game-night entertainment. Rumble the Bison, the Thunder Girls, the Storm Chasers and more will all be on hand.

In addition to the Thunder entertainment, Oklahoma City players DeAndre Liggins and Daniel Orton are expected to be in uniform for the 66ers on NBA D-League assignments. At the conclusion of the game, the two Thunder players will sign autographs for fans in the main lobby of the SpiritBank Event Center.
