Everett Silvertips News Release

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Evan Sarthou turned away 29 shots and Parker Bowles collected a pair of assists to help the Tri-City Americans hold off the Everett Silvertips, 2-1 before 4,642 fans at Toyota Center on Friday night.

Everett dropped their third consecutive loss but remained five points ahead of Seattle for first place in the U.S. Division after the Spokane Chiefs defeated the Thunderbirds, 5-4 several minutes after the Silvertips loss. Patrick Bajkov inched closer to the 100-career goal plateau with a second period goal and Carter Hart, making an unexpected start after Mario Petit was originally penciled into the starting lineup, made 15 saves.

With the Silvertips defense limiting Tri-City's looks at the net, one night after Hart competed in the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game, Jordan Topping helped the Americans convert on the first major breakdown with a wrister from tight range at 10:43 of the first period for a 1-0 lead.

Bowles then flipped a quick re-direction to Parker Wotherspoon, stationed at the left post, who followed up a rebound past the blocker of Carter Hart for a 2-0 lead at 14:40 of the second period.

The Silveritps issued a quick response on Bajkov's 11th goal of the season, a late two-on-one snipe from the left circle with 2:49 left in the period.

Everett limited Tri-City's chances in the third and spilled heavy pressure on Sarthou in the last two minutes of regulation, but separate chances by Bajkov and Stadnyk were turned away by a blocked shot and a left arm save by Sarthou, respectively.
